One of the best glass bead makers in New Zealand is Astrid Christine. Originally from Germany she studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, but was drawn to glass and developed her skills in lamp working after a move to New Zealand with husband Rud.

| I am gleefully consumed with the drive to create small, intimate objects in glass. Manipulating hot glass is an exciting, joyful process. The possibilities are endless and there is not a day where I do not learn something more and try something new. |
