Vivian is a talented sculptural artist who creates one-off contemporary pieces from recycled copper, willow, rattan and other found ‘possibilities’.
“I find a lot of satisfaction in producing items that are used by people on a daily basis. My interest in sculpture comes from that background-it’s a natural extension of form and technique.”
Vivian has been involved with some large sculptural projects overseas in Scotland, Spain and Denmark. In 2003, her work changed dramatically when she began using copper as a medium
for sculptural weaving, exploring the techniques of how it could be shaped, molded and oxidized.
Living mostly on Great Barrier Island, Vivian's work is strongly influenced by the natural environment-the land and sea. Heritage Gallery is proud to show work from this clever artist.
