Chris Jones

Chris has always been interested in design and went to university to study 3D design, specialising in glass.

Having returned for further studies, he eventually joined the well known Neil Wilkin Glass Studios in Frome, Somerset, UK. There he quickly rose through the ranks as his work was getting noticed.

The work often involved creating work for well known overseas artists like Peter Bremers, Floris Meydam and Meno Jonker.

His specialty at this time was the larger pieces which require particular skills. After a few years free lancing he became involved in the restoration work following the Windsor Castle fire as well as work for Prince Charles.

Chris was looking for new fields and was offered a job assisting at a glass studio in Wanganui NZ and it was there he met Lynden Over who was setting up his gallery, Lava Glass in Taupo.

Chris has been working with Lynden for several years now. He has had the opportunity to develop his own ideas, selling to galleries and exhibiting widely around NZ.
