Collection: Leanne Wood

When a job opportunity for her husband in 2007 required a move from Taranaki to the Waikato, Leanne agreed on the condition they settle in Cambridge.

They both fell in love with its charming tree-lined streets and its buildings full of character.  With a long standing passion for design and architecture, Leanne’s work reflects her appreciation for form and structure.  Originally from the Kapiti Coast, on leaving school Leanne studied survey drafting and later interior design.  This background influencing her prints.

Each artwork is created using a single-block lino cut process.  Designs are hand drawn and carefully cut, then inked and printed by hand onto paper.  Because the same block is used throughout the process, each print carried subtle variations, making every piece unique.  This hands on approach embraces imperfections and celebrates the craftmanship behind traditional printmaking.
