The Mount - Framed

"What a morning! I scouted this location at the Mount a few years ago, but this old pohutukawa is one of those trees that rarely blooms like this, perhaps once every 10 years I'd say? But then December 2023 was a cracking season, so I thought this could be worth another visit, just in case it might be in bloom? So when I arrived the morning before & discovered these brilliant flowers on the lower branches, I was pretty pleased with myself! On that morning I shot a set of images, but I wasn't really happy with the clouds, it was all just a bit too busy. So with a clear day forecast, I rose early again for another attempt & was rewarded with this glorious light. It really was sensational, an absolutely magical start to summer. And finally, an iconic image of The Mount I could happily sign my name to."
