"I think the secret to the unique experience of New Chum is the native bush walk to get there & the glimpses of the beach as you inch closer. If you could drive directly there, it really wouldn't be the same! At the far end of the bay lie fabulous groves of young nikau palms, nurtured under the protection of ancient pohutukawa trees. I wanted to celebrate both the beauty of the bush & this stunning beach all in one view, so I captured this wide panorama, with the nikaus & pohutukawa framing this wonderful window. It teases you with the beach beyond, very much a place I’d rather be!”
