The Tigress and The Queen

'The Tigress and the Queen Bee'

With this painting my task was to embrace and celebrate all things feminine.

I wanted to create a piece that was a kind of amulet and a reminder of how extraordinarily wonderful you girls are.

The queen of the jungle is the Tigress and the Queen bee is a magnificent leader in her colony. Magnolia flowers grow in every continent in the world and are one of the most ancient flowers on earth because of their strength, longevity and beauty. The gladiolus are considered swords of the flowering world (think gladiator) fiery symbols of strength and integrity. Historically apples, pomegranates and pears have all been used to represent many female attributes.

I used them to signify female power and wisdom
